The team at Cloud Connect recently undertook an exciting new project for a new skin cancer clinic, Shade Skin Cancer Medicine. We sat down with Jon, the Managing Director, to discuss the project and how the Cloud Connect team delivered the project.

How was your experience with Cloud Connect WA’s project delivery?

“For my other business, a premium chain of WA based cosmetic clinics, our experience with Cloud Connect project delivery has always been strong. It is for this reason we took on this new project with you guys for our new venture at Shade Skin Cancer Medicine and the project delivery was exceptional.”

“The team at Cloud Connect consistently demonstrated the same professionalism, dedication, and expertise throughout the process, ensuring we were ready to go on our opening day. To single out one team member, over the years I’ve found Aiden extremely helpful on both the small tasks and the larger complex tasks, often staying back late to accommodate delivery.”

Did Cloud Connect WA deliver your project on time and within budget?

“Yes, Cloud Connect delivered the Shade Skin project both on time and within budget. Their ability to adhere to timelines and a financial budget gave us peace of mind and allowed us to focus on other aspects of our business launch. I really feel this is where I’ve been most impressed with the Cloud Connect team as other providers tend to focus on the sale or deal and not on the project management and delivery. Whereas with this project, our project manager was ahead of the game, ensuring all the hardware was in stock and ordered well in advance of installation ensuring that we weren’t scrambling last minute due to stock issues.”

What challenges did Cloud Connect WA help you overcome?

“They helped us navigate several technical challenges, including setting up our VPN, integrating our patient management software, and ensuring our systems were ready for our opening day. Our patient management software is yet to be rolled out on to the cloud and still uses VPN’s which is quite outdated but with the teams assistance, they rolled out the necessary software for all of our hardware giving us access from all devices that we requested. They also troubleshooted directly with the practice management developers with almost no involvement from myself which allowed our team to focus on the rest of the clinic launch.”

How was the communication from Cloud Connect WA during the project?

“Communication from Cloud Connect was excellent. I’ve found over the 7 years working with Paul and the team, communication has been rock-solid. They kept us updated regularly, explained technical details clearly, and were always available to address questions or concerns promptly. For me, like most people, good communication is one of the main things I value highly with a supplier and Cloud Connect delivers on this.”

Can you share an example of Cloud Connect WA’s effective project management?

“I have mentioned the proactive nature of the team ordering in the hardware ensuring it was all ready to go for our launch. Another standout example was their willingness to stay late to ensure our systems were fully operational for our opening day the night before. I know some of the team stayed back late and came in a little early to help us out, which was greatly appreciated. Many companies state they go above and beyond but don’t always follow through on that with their actions whereas Cloud Connect consistently have for our businesses.”

How did Cloud Connect WA’s technical skills impact your project?

“The teams technical expertise was invaluable for the project. From handling complex VPN configurations to integrating specialized patient management software, their skills ensured everything worked seamlessly, which was very important for our operations. The team even advised on our payment terminal integration which was technically out of scope, but their team members had experience with this and helped us troubleshoot some early issues.”

How did Cloud Connect WA handle unexpected issues?

“When unexpected issues arose, they responded quickly and efficiently. Through my experience with our other cosmetic business, Youth Lab, we know the team has a strong ability to think on their feet to give us minimal disruption to our operations. For our Shade Skin project, this was certainly needed as this is our first clinic in the skin cancer space so we saw more unexpected issues pop up around our VPN set up, and printer requirements.”

How has Cloud Connect WA’s project delivery impacted your business?

“Their support has been instrumental in helping us launch our new skin cancer business successfully. Anyone that has started a new venture knows that the opening and the first few days of trading are the most stressful moments. IT issues can be very frustrating in daily life at the best of times, but these can really bite when opening a business if your IT company is not proactive and on the ball. In terms of how they impacted the business, they were essential to a successful opening and reducing my personal stress load significantly. I couldn’t recommend the team enough. They have really found the balance between technical expertise and customer service which can be a hard thing to achieve in IT.”
